Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghathan earlier this year 2023 conducted examinations for various posts of teaching and non-teaching staff. The teaching staff included PRT, PGT, and TGT further non-teaching staff included posts of Assistant Commissioner, Librarian, Principal, Vice Principal, Finance Officer etc. Whereas there were 1409 PGT posts, 3176 TGT posts, and 6414 posts for PRT. Out of all these posts, results are out for almost every post except PRT 6414. Aspirants of PRT are eagerly waiting for the result they have never seen this much of a delay from the KVS vacancy.

Understanding the delay for KVS PRT

KVS functioning is fast but this time they are unable to produce the result of PRT due to the case pending in Supreme Court. Actually,  there was a petition filed by the petitioner regarding the eligibility of Primary teachers. Earlier according to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) candidates who have the Diploma in Elementary Education/ BTC/ were only eligible for becoming Primary teachers and candidates with B.Ed. degree were not eligible to become primary teachers. Later in 2018 NCTE amended the eligibility criteria of for primary teachers and made candidates with B.Ed. degree eligible along with BTC/D.Eld. for the post PRT. So it created a debate about B.Ed. vs D.Eld. in the academic community resulted in agitation among candidates with D.Eld. which went to the high court and directed to make D.Eld. students only eligible for the post. Further, the issue become a major concern for many as states of India already appointed B.Ed. candidates for the post of PRT along with D.Eld. Hence the matter was placed in front of the Supreme Court of India. Now the KVS PRT result is totally dependent on Supreme Court and in their notification, it is clearly stated.

Current situation of B.Ed. vs PRT in Supreme Court

The case was listed on 19th July 2023 in the Supreme Court but got cancelled further the hearing was held on 24-07-2023 in which the court released the order stating that after hearing the council the matter was adjourned for two more weeks. It means that the KVS PRT result is not going to be released in July as speculated by many. Here this order may be because of the recent vacancy in Rajasthan where B.Ed. candidates do not get eligible. It speculated that Supreme Court may rethink and consider the matter of Rajasthan. Therefore candidates have to wait for the decision of the Supreme Court. You may look to the order of 24 July 2023 below:
